Seth O’Brien, CP, FAAOP(D) began his career in O&P after losing a leg to cancer at age 24. He completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Arizona and graduate degree in prosthetics at California State University Dominguez Hills.
Seth is the Chief Prosthetist at Wheeler O&P, and is adjunct faculty at Baylor University’s Doctor of Physical Therapy program. Currently, Seth serves on the Executive Board of the American Academy of Orthotists & Prosthetists (AAOP) where he chairs the Academy’s Education Development Council; Publications Committee; and Scientific Societies Committee. He is also the host of the Academy’s “Clinical Care Insiders” podcast. In 2018, Seth was recognized as a Fellow of the Academy, and in 2022 was awarded the title of Fellow with Distinction.
Outside of work, Seth enjoys traveling with his wife and two boys, coaching baseball and competing as a para-triathlete.
